OSIM has provided commercial snow and ice management at Syensqo for seven consecutive winters. The site is a controlled industrial facility. During that period OSIM has been the only external snow and ice contractor on site besides Syensqo’s in-house crews.

Hand crews wear required fire-protective clothing and hard hats. Truck drivers must pass site-specific safety testing before access. Work follows controlled entry rules and is coordinated around live plant operations.

The winter program manages snow and ice across the facility and is intended to reduce slip-and-fall risk. Facility data from the program is available.​

OSIM has provided snow and ice management services for the City of St. Catharines at its downtown performing arts centre for the past eight years.

The site includes one of the more challenging pedestrian areas in downtown St. Catharines: a large sloped walkway leading directly into an extensive staircase. Managing snow and ice on this type of route requires significantly more than conventional parking-lot plowing. The slope, pedestrian traffic, stairs, changing temperatures, and potential for ice formation make consistent winter maintenance particularly important.

Before OSIM began providing winter services, this pedestrian route was closed during winter conditions on a recurring basis. Since OSIM took responsibility for the winter maintenance, the City has been able to keep the route open and accessible through winter, supported by OSIM's ongoing snow and ice management.
